Much of the work of CAIL is done through its membership-based Institutes. For more information about the Institutes, click on the titles below.

Institute for Law Enforcement Administration

Membership in the Institute for Law Enforcement Administration (ILEA) is available to law enforcement agencies, municipalities, law firms, and other organizations or government agencies. Dues vary depending upon the size and classification of the member and members receive reduced tuition rates for the Institute’s programs.

ILEA Alumni

The Alumni Association exists for the purpose of fostering a continuing connection among former students of Institute programs, and providing an avenue for agencies to obtain scholarships to attend the School of Police Supervision or the Management College. Joining the Alumni Association is easy. Alumni Members must have successfully completed the School of Police Supervision, the Management College, or one of the one-week or longer Institute programs.

Institute for Energy Law

Membership in the Institute for Energy Law (IEL) is available to individuals, corporations, law firms, government agencies and other organizations. Members may appoint one or more persons to serve on the Institute's Advisory Board, depending on the membership level. Advisory Board members are entitled to attend the Annual Oil & Gas Law Conference at no cost and discounted attendance at all other programs. Members also receive a 10% discount on IEL/Matthew Bender publications: the Oil and Gas Reporter and the Proceedings of the Institute on Oil and Gas Law. Supporting or Sustaining Members of the Institute may also send an unlimited number of additional persons to the Institute’s programs at a reduced tuition rate.

Southwestern Institute for International and Comparative Law

Membership in the Southwestern Institute for International and Comparative Law (SWIICL) is available to individuals, corporations, law firms, and other organizations. Each member may appoint one or more members, based upon membership level, to the Institute's Advisory Board. Members of the Advisory Board may attend the annual Symposium on Global Markets at no cost. Members may also select a candidate to receive a full or partial tuition fellowship to the six-week Academy of American and International Law.

Institute for Transnational Arbitration

Membership in the Institute for Transnational Arbitration (ITA) is available to individuals, corporations, law firms, government agencies and other organizations. Members appoint one or more persons to serve on the Institute's Advisory Board, depending on the membership level. Advisory Board members are entitled to attend the Annual ITA Workshop at no cost and discounted attendance at all other programs. Members also receive the publication News and Notes, which includes the Scoreboard of Adherence to Transnational Arbitration Treaties, our newest publication World Arbitration and Mediation Review (a law journal edited by our Board of Editors) and reduced prices for ITA video products. Supporting or Sustaining Members of the Institute may also send an unlimited number of additional persons to the Institute’s programs at a reduced tuition rate.

Institute for Law and Technology

Membership in the Institute for Law and Technology (ILT) is available to individuals, corporations, law firms, government agencies and other organizations. Members appoint one or more persons to serve on the Institute's Advisory Board, depending on the membership level. Advisory Board members are entitled to attend the Annual Intellectual Property Law Conference at no cost and discounted attendance at all other programs. Supporting or Sustaining Members of the Institute may also send an unlimited number of additional persons to the Institute’s programs at a reduced tuition rate.
