On Friday, November 22, 2013, ILEA Associate Director Gregory Smith was honored to give the commencement address for the 8th Session of the Raleigh Police Leadership Institute, Raleigh, North Carolina. Fifty law enforcement supervisors from Raleigh, North Carolina State University, Duke University and the Wake County Sheriff’s Office received graduation credentials from this one-month professional development program. Mr. Smith spoke on the importance of ethical leadership, the role of values- based followership and serving the community for all law enforcement officials. Honored guests included Chief Cassandra Deck-Brown and command staff of the Raleigh Police Department and command officers from other agencies.
