View Schedule and Faculty

Led by co-chairs Caline Mouawad, Jeremy Sharpe and Prof. Jarrod Wong, the Workshop this year will explore the most important challenges to the legitimacy of international arbitration today.  In a series of lectures, debates, panels and mock scenarios, experts from around the world will identify real and perceived concerns with the legitimacy of the decision makers, the process and the results, and propose viable solutions to the “legitimacy crisis” in international arbitration. With active involvement from all participants, the Workshop aims to add an important voice to the most pressing issues facing international arbitration today.

The Workshop keynote address will be delivered by Gary Born (Wilmer Hale, London).  The Workshop luncheon will feature an interview with Dominique Brown-Berset (Brown&Page, Geneva), the latest in our Academic Council’s oral history series. Other speakers include Yas Banifatemi (Shearman & Sterling, Paris), Hon. Rosemary Barkett (Judge, Iran-United States Claims Tribunal, The Hague), Jacomijn van Haersolte-van Hof (LCIA Director-General, London) and Eduardo Zuleta (Zuleta Abogados Asociados, Bogotá).

The best way to attend the Workshop is as a member of the ITA Advisory Board, who attend both the Workshop and related membership events for free.
